Raymond Lee

Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer

Raymond Lee is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Torica. He has the ultimate responsibility for the firm’s investment portfolios, strategy and team. Raymond has two decades of experience at premier financial institutions and investment firms. He possesses extensive fixed income and credit experience covering the full spectrum of global macro, credit, hybrids and rates, in both the public and private spheres.

Prior to Torica, Raymond spent 11 years at Kapstream Capital as Managing Director and Head of Credit. He was a Lead and Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing over $14 billion in global fixed income and credit portfolios across various absolute return strategies. As Head of Credit, he led the firm to become recognised as one of the leading credit investment funds in the industry.

Prior to Kapstream, Raymond managed investments at a $6 billion global special situation hedge fund that spun off from Highbridge Capital Management. He also worked at Goldman Sachs and Illyria, the private investment firm of Lachlan Murdoch, covering investments across the capital structure. Raymond has frequently appeared in the media as a specialist on the region’s fixed income markets.

Raymond holds a Bachelor of Law and Commerce (Finance) from the University of New South Wales (NSW), graduating with Distinction. He has also been admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Alwyn Hung

Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager

Alwyn is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Torica, focused on macro, rates and credit strategies. With over two decades of global fixed income investment management and trading experience, Alwyn held senior roles at HSBC, ABN Amro and the boutique fixed income asset manager Mason Stevens. Alwyn has a deep understanding of global fixed income and credit through his experience investing in key financial hubs, notably New York, London, Hong Kong and Sydney.

Prior to joining Torica, Alwyn was a Senior Portfolio Manager for Mason Stevens, lead managing a number of global and domestic fixed income strategies. Alwyn’s responsibilities included the strategic positioning of the firm’s credit fund from a macro, rates and credit perspective. He also led research and was responsible for portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk.

Prior to Mason Stevens, Alwyn held senior roles at ABN Amro and HSBC as a portfolio manager, strategist and trader within their principal investments, securitisation and debt origination divisions. These roles included the active management of the banks’ trading positions and overall regulatory capital exposures. Alwyn also had direct stewardship over multi-billion dollar fixed income, credit and securitisation portfolios where he was responsible for portfolio strategy, proprietary trading, risk management and origination.

Alwyn holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics from the Australian National University.
